Very reliable dense cake (like a big pound cake)
Stores well and stays moist
Grease well and flour a 10 inch tube pan
Preheat oven 350
Sift together: flour, salt, baking soda
Beat butter til creamy and fluffy.
Add sugar and beat til creamy
Add eggs, one at a time.
Alternately add flour mixture with buttermilk and vanilla.
Blend well.
Add chopped raisins and walnuts
Bake for 75-80 minutes.
Set on rack and while still hot, pour over mixture of:
sugar, oj and rum
Leave cake in pan 24 hours. Store in cool place
