Max's Moxie Bbq Sauce

BBQ sauce using Moxie soda from New Hampshire (New England).

Original recipe makes 12 Servings
1 mediumOnion; minced
1 tablespoonGarlic; minced
1 tablespoonUnsalted butter
1/2 teaspoonKosher Salt
1/4 cupJack Daniels Whiskey
1 cupMoxie; soda
1/2 cupHoney; Wildflower or Clover
1/2 cupCorn syrup, dark
1/3 cupApple Cider Viniger
2 cupsKetchup
1 teaspoonMemphis Rub; home made
2 tablespoonTomato paste
1/8 teaspoonHot Chili Oil; asia market, increase to increase heat

Max's Moxie Bbq Sauce Preparation

In a 2 quart pan over medium-low head, add butter onion and garlic, saute. Add whiskey and Moxie bring to boil and cook for 3 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Using stick blender blend until smoothcook for 10 minutes then let cool. Keep refrigerated and warm for basting just about anything.

Notes

This was a big hit with a smoked turkey breast using the Memphis Dry Rub and smoking over hickory until done.
