Yaya's Caffé Mocha Latte
Ingredients
Yaya's Caffé Mocha Latte Preparation
Get out your favorite coffee mug. Heat the milk just enough to have steam come out. Whip the chocolate syrup and milk together. Place 1/2 mixture into mug.
Put 4 tablespoons of coffee in the bottom of a French Press. Pour in 3 1/2 cups near boiling water (do not boil water as this will give bitter taste). Stir with a long-handled spoon just to break up clumps, then push the lid/filter assembly down until it just rests on the water.
Let it steep 3-4 minutes until the coffee is too dark to see light through (the length of steep time controls extraction - too short and the coffee will be under-extracted and sour; too long and the coffee will be over-extracted and bitter). Holding the lid, press the plunger down slow and steady until it stops.
Pour the hot coffee into the mug and stir well. Top with dash of cinnamon and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure you take any extra coffee out of the press afterward if you want to save it for later, otherwise it will get too strong from soaking in coffee grinds.
