Knockout Nachos! Preparation
Brown the ground beef with the onion and the green pepper and garlic salt, add refried beans and 1 cup of salsa. Warm the cheese dip in the microwave about 10 seconds to loosen it. To assemble place 1/2 the chips on a large oven-proof platter. Sprinkle chips with 1/2 the ground beef/refried beans/salsa mixture. Drizzle with 1/2 of the cheese dip. Place in 350 degree oven for 10 min. Add the rest of the chips and another layer of the ground beef mixture and remaining cheese dip. Heat for another 10 min. Top with fresh salsa, jalapeno peppers, olives, lettuce, guacamole and sour cream to taste to make it beautiful! Serve immediately.
Option: Serve all the ingredients in separate serving dishes and let your guests build their own. This helps to keep the tortilla chips crunchy.
Notes
Watch while in the oven so chips don't burn. Have lots of beer available!
