This icing dries dries to a hard and glossy finish, and it is easy to paint on cookies with a brush.
In a small bowl, stir together the confectioners'' sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.
Divide into separate bowls, and add food colorings to desired intensity. Dip cookies in glaze, or paint them with a brush, then add any toppings desired.
Note: Each Christmas at Minter Lane, the elementary children decorated cookies using this glaze for our shut-in and senior members. A great time was had by all!
