Original recipe makes 6 Servings
1 cupSugar
2 tablespoonShortening; rounded
1 largeEgg
2 cupFlour; sifted
3 teaspoonBaking powder
1/4 teaspoonSalt
1 cupMilk
1 teaspoonVanilla
-- Topping --
2 teaspoonCinnamon
4 tablespoonSugar
2 teaspoonFlour
2 tablespoonButter

Grandma's Coffee Cake Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 (or 350 for a glass dish).

Mix cake ingredients together in a bowl. Do not over mix. Batter will be thin. Pour mixture into 2 8-inch tins.

Mix together topping in a separate bowl and sprinkle on top.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
