|300 gsirloin beef steak; cut into bite size cubes or strips|
|1 mediumonion; chopped|
|250 ggreen beans; topped and tailed, halved if big|
|250 gfield mushrooms; de-stalked and sliced|
|1/4 teaspoonmustard powder|
|1/2 cupbeef stock|
|1 clovegarlic; pressed|
|1 tablespoonWorcester sauce|
|1 tablespoonlemon juice|
|1/4 teaspoonground black pepper|
|1 tablespoonextra virgin olive oil|
|1 tablespoonparsley (optional); chopped|
Steak Dianne Preparation
Wash and chop the parsley and set it aside.
Peel and chop the onion.
Cut the end of the green beans and cut them into bite sized pieces.
Remove the stalks from the mushrooms and slice them into bite sized pieces.
Peel and press the garlic clove.
Cut the meat into bite sized cubes or strips.
Heat the olive oil in a frypan and brown the meat in it.
Remove the meat to a plate and add the butter.
Saute the onions and garlic till the onions are soft.
Add the mushrooms and saute for a few minutes.
Add the meat, stock, mustard, pepper, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and green beans and simmer.
Mix the cornflour with a drizzle of cold water until it forms a smooth paste.
Gradually stir the cornflour mix into the sauce and continue simmering till the sauce is thickened and the meat tender.
