I had tried a similar recipe where you make a sort of lamb meatloaf and use that for the filling, but it had a weird texture and just wasn't very good. Gyro Burger Patties Preparation
In large bowl, combine oregano, garlic powder, pepper, onion powder, cumin and salt. Add ground lamb and ground beef; mix well. Form into 4 patties, about 3/4-inch thick. Grill over medium coals or broil about 5 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness.
We have also used a patty press in the past, then flash frozen them on a cookie sheet for about 30 minutes, them popped them in a gallon ziplock baggy in the freezer. They cook up great from frozen.
