Romanian dish. easy, yummy, and not too tart
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook ground pork in a skillet; then drain the grease and stir in 1 tsp. of paprika. Meanwhile, heat the sauerkraut in a skillet. Bring broth to boil and then add rice, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. (It will not be completely soft.) Mix heavy cream and sour cream together.
In a greased casserole dish, layer 1/3 sauerkraut, then 1/2 rice, 1/2 ground pork, 1/3 smoked sausage, and 1/3 cream mixture. Repeat layering with 1/3 sauerkraut, rice, pork, 1/3 smoked sausage, and 1/3 cream mixture. Finally, add the last of the sauerkraut and then the last of the smoked sausage. Sprinkle the bacon on top. Drizzle the remaining cream mixture on top. Cover with foil and heat in oven for 20-30 minutes. Yummy! Yummy!
