Original recipe makes 4 Servings
1 Lb.Sausage; (Pork or Turkey)
1/2 C.Green Pepper; Chopped (Optional)
1/2 C.Onion; Chopped (Optional)
1.25 C.Celery; Chopped (Optional)
1 PackageChicken Noodle Soup Mix; The kind in a box (like Lipton)
2.5 C.Water; Boiling
1/2 C.Rice; Uncooked
2 TbspButter; Melted
1/2 C.Almonds; Slivered

Sausage Rice Casserole Preparation

Brown the sausage in a large skillet. Pour off any excess fat. Add green pepper, onion, and celery as desired and return to stove. Saute until tender.

Combine the Lipton soup and boiling water in a sauce pan. Stir in the rice. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

Add the sausage mix and salt to the Lipton/rice sauce pan. Mix well. Pour into greased baking dish (8x8).

Sprinkle with almonds and drizzle with melted butter. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
