1 tsButter or margerine
1 lbGround beef
3/4 cCelery; chopped
3 tbInstant minced onion
1 1/4 cWater
1/2 cUncooked converted rice
1/2 tsSalt
1 cnCondensed chicken with rice
1 cn(4 oz) slice mushrooms;
1 tbBrown sugar; packed
2 tbSoy sauce

Chop Suey Casserole Preparation

Cook and stir ground beef, celery and onion in skillet until beef is brown; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients. OVEN METHOD: Pour into greased 2 qt. casserole dish. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven 30 minutes; stir. Cook until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 30 minutes longer. RANGE TOP METHOD: Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
