Original recipe makes 8 Servings
1/2 Gal.Whole Milk
1 wholeLemon
1 CupSugar
1/2 CanEvaporated Milk; Carnation

Grandma's Original Dulce de Leche - Cuban Style Preparation

Pour milk in sauce pan. Add sugar and evaporated milk - stir together.

Add freshly squeezed lemon juice from 1 large lemon.

Heat over medium flame, continue stirring to avoid burning.

Milk will curdle and continue to solidify. Continue cooking down until begins to slightly yellow and becomes firm consistency. Sugar should be caramelized, but not burned.

Should have sugar syrup liquid in sauce pan.

Allow to cook in refrigerator. Serve in small dessert dish. Eat with spoon.

It is a sweet, unique and delicious dessert!
