A flavorful chicken dish named after Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This was a copycat recipe I found & modified of the Bourbon Chicken sold in most Chinese take-outs; which rarely use bourbon as a component. It's wonderfully sweet & spicy without being too hot. For kids that don't like hotstuffs, cut down on the pepper flakes!
maggie_winters_925 ,One of our families favorites! I use a little less red pepper flakes and serve it over basmati rice with pan fried peppers and onions. So good!7y
gramsy1 ,A little time consuming, but good. May be a little spicy for younger kids. Everyone in our house liked it, which is hard to come by most of the time.7y
barblibrarian ,Used boneless skinless thighs. Added hoisin like others suggested - definitely better! Added a bit of cayenne pepper. Cut back on the soy sauce and brown sugar just a bit.7y
lafawnberry ,This was VERY good as is. It also freezes well. I doubled it and am looking forward to the next time when I take it out of the freezer!7y
trixiemcg ,Really good flavour. However way too salty for my liking. I'll definitely make it again but would use low-sodium soy sauce and if that isn't cutting the salt enough I'll maybe reduce the soy sauce.7y
pearlyp ,Soooo good!!! My wife made this and it's yummy!! We might have to try some of the revised suggestions in the reviews but soooo good just the way it is7y
tevans86 ,I have made this several times and its pretty good. However based on the reviews I'm going to substitute hoisin sauce for the ketchup. I really think that will improve the flavor even more...7y
lisamjeffersa6v8o3v9t8p0 ,Yummy!! I used bourbon instead of juice and water. I also added chili sauce, but this made it reallly spicy. It was still delicious, but I will go a little easier on the chili sauce next time.7y
