Lemon Cream Cheese Crescents (No Sugar Added) Preparation
Cream Cheese Mix
Mix cream cheese, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, and .25 cups Splenda in a medium mixing bowl.
Open crescent rolls, unroll, and lay out on a clean surface.
Using 2 spoons place an equal amount of mix on the wide side of each dough triangle and roll so that the mix is inside and the point of the dough in on the outside.
Cook according to crescent roll package instructions. Usually preheat oven to 375 degrees, place rolls on and un-greased cookie sheet, and cook 11 to 13 minutes until rolls begin to brown and smell good.
While crescents bake place 1 cup of Splenda in a small mixing bowl and whisk in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice followed by 1 tablespoon of water. Refrigerate until crescents are done.
Once crescents are finished brush glaze onto the top of the crescents and serve immediately.
Use Splenda for the no sugar added version. For full sugar replace Splenda in cream cheese mixture with regular sugar and Splenda in the glaze with powdered sugar.
For quicker breakfast prep. cream cheese mix and assemble the night before and refrigerate on the cookie sheet loosely covered. Start the oven preheating right away and mix the glaze while the crescents cook.
