Sounds easy and wonderful
Have ready 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
16 cups popcorn, remove unpopped kernels and whatever husks you can and put into brown paper grocery bag.*
Combine first four ingredients in medium sized, microwave proof bowl or a four cup measuring cup. Microwave four minutes until sugar is dissolved. Stir well to incorporate butter into sugar. Add soda to syrup and quickly stir; this will be very foamy. Pour over popcorn and mix well with large spoon.
Microwave on full power 1 and 1/2 minutes. Shake bag well. Microwave again for 1 and 1/2 minutes. Pour out onto large cookie sheet to cool. Well be crispy as soon as it cools. Yummy!!!
Glo, sometimes, I like it to have a lot of carmel so I make a batch and a half of the syrup for the 16 cups of popcorn.
*Brown bag can be reused several times if you want to make
