Saw this idea once on Iron Chef and have been wanting to try it for a while! Smoothie made from avocado, honeydew melon, lime and vanilla yogurt.
1. Combine avocado, honeydew melon, vanilla yogurt, crushed ice, lime juice, honey, and salt in blender until desired consistency.
2. Poor mixture into glass and garnish with fresh basil leaf.
3. Enjoy!
When I saw this on Iron Chef, I am pretty sure they used far more avocado because the judges kept talking about how the taste of the avocado really made the flavor of the honeydew melon stand out, and if we had more avocado (we were using the last of it!) we would have certainly added more. The only thing I knew that they used on the show was the avocado and the melon, so the rest of the ingredients are our own recipe. Just experiment and season it to taste, but be careful with the lime! You don't want it to turn into a margarita. =)
