Brussels Sprouts with Bacon & Onions Preparation
In a saute pan large enough to hold the sprouts, fry the bacon until crisp. Remove with slotted spoon and set aside. Remove all but 2 tablespoons of of fat from pan. Add the butter and place pan over medium heat. When the butter looks foamy, add the onion and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the sprouts and cook for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover the pan and cook another minute until sprouts are crisp tender. Stir in bacon and add s&p to taste. Serve immediately.
Save some time and use Oscar Meyer Bacon Pieces..heat in the pan to create the bacon fat and continue as above!
A reviewer suggested adding 2-3 tablespoons of toasted pine nuts with the bacon, which is a great option!
