Meat Pie with Veggie Gravy
|4 Pie crust; For Pie|
|1 tablespoonVegetable oil; For Pie|
|1 1/2 lbsground beef; For Pie|
|1 Garlic cloves; minced For Pie|
|1 8 oz canTomato paste; For Pie|
|1 teaspoonChili powder; For Pie|
|3 tablespoonButter; For Sauce|
|1/4 cupflour; For Sauce|
|2 cupsbeef boullion; For Sauce|
|1 cuppeas; cooked For Sauce|
|1 cupcarrots; diced / cooked For Sauce|
|1 tablespoonparsley; chopped For Sauce|
Meat Pie with Veggie Gravy Preparation
1.Heat cooking oil in 10-inch skillet over medium heat.
2.Add ground beef until meat begins to change color.
4.Saute until mixture is well browned
5.Add tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, chili powder
6.Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, remove from heat and cool completely
7.Pour cooled meat micture into pastry. Lay 1/2 strips of pastry over filling about 1 inch apart in a diamond pattern.
8.Bake in 400 deg oven 25 min or until golden brown.
1.Melt 3 tbsp butter or margarine in 2 qt saucepan
2.Stir in 0.25 cup flour
3.Gradually stir in 2 cup beef boullion
4.cook of medium heat, stir constantly until thickened.
5.Add 1 cup cooked peas, 1 cup diced cooked carrots and 1 tbsp of fresh parsley.
