Very good fresh from the oven.
Preheat oven to 450?. Measure flour, baking powder and salt into bowl. Cut in lard using 2 knives or pastry blender. Add milk all at one time, stirring lightly with a fork, until dry ingredients are all mixed. Do not overmix. Turn out on floured surface and gently knead. Roll out to ? to ? " thickness or pat down with hand. Cut with cookie cutter or knife. Bake on ungreased sheet for 8 - 10 minutes.
Cheese Garlic Biscuits: Use above recipe adding ? cup shredded cheese and 1 ? tsp garlic powder to the dry ingredients and continue as above.
Red Lobster Biscuits: Brush hot biscuits with ? cup melted butter & ? tsp garlic.
