Can double the garlic and butter to accommodate the large artisan loaf of bread!
Melt the butter in a sauce pan. Mince up all the cloves of garlic from the head and add to the butter.
Now take a basting brush and start slathering the garlic butter all across that bread. Really go for it, let it soak in. "Heck, sometimes I even pour it on." Make sure you get all those garlic chunks evenly distributed.
Now 'double-bake' the bread. This is when you bake at 350 F for 10 to 15 minutes to heat the bread, and then brown it off for color under the broiler for a minute or two.
When the bread is finished broiling let it cool for a minute or two. Sprinkle with the salt and chives. Slice and serve.
