Crock Pot baby-backed ribs

Recipes »  Main Dish  »  Ribs

This recipe seems impossible when you read it. I have served this dish 50 times and it always gets great reviews. The secrete is cooking the ribs without liquid of and kind, the ribs will produce sufficient liquid while cooking and the ribs are tender and flavorful.

"I tried the recipe on Sunday. I used a full rack which was about 2.5 pounds. I did a few things differently: I seasoned the meat with the rib rub the night before and set in the fridge overnight. I put a teaspoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar at the bottom of the crock pot and set the ribs on top. In 8 hours the meat was falling off the bone and the meat was so tender! I topped with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. I will make this again! " - Marmy1467

Servings
Original recipe makes 2 Servings
1 rackbaby-backed ribs; membrane removed
1 1/2 cupsfavorite pork rub
1 to tastesalt; add to rub
1 to tastepepper; add to rub

Crock Pot baby-backed ribs Preparation

Place crock pot on low

Remove membrane from ribs

May split rack in half if it fits easier in the crock pot

Rub ribs generously with pork rub. salt and pepper added.

Add No liquid to crock pot. believe me you wont need any liquid.

Add ribs to crock pot and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

Ribs are done when they are falling off the bone tender.

At this point they can be served as is or broiled for 5 minutes with your favorite barbecue sauce added.

Notes

The broiling darkens the ribs and caramelizes the rub or barbecue sauce.
