Chili purists, beware! This is a quick recipe to make chili dogs without having to slave hours over a simmering pot of beans-and-meat. And yet... it's SO TASTY.

Original recipe makes 8 Servings
1/2 poundsground pork
1 Onion; chopped
2 tablespoonsVegetable oil
3 clovesGarlic; minced
1 tablespoonChili powder
1 cupred kidney beans; rinsed and drained
3/4 cupshot or mild salsa
2 tablespoonsKetchup
Salt & pepper; to taste
8 hot dog sausages
8 hot dog buns
1 1/2 cupscheddar cheese; grated

Quicky Quick Express Chili Dogs Preparation

1. In a saucepan, brown the meat and onion over high heat in the vegetable oil. Add the garlic and chili powder, coating the meat well. Salt and pepper.

2. Add the beans, salsa and ketchup. Bring to a boil. Cover and allow to simmer about 5 minutes. Adjust the seasoning. Keep warm.

3. In a saucepan of boiling water, cook the sausages about 5 minutes. Drain. Toast the hot dog buns or warm them in the oven.

4. Divide the sausage in bread. Top with chili and cheese.
