Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use a 13x9 ungreased baking dish.
Combine sugar and flour, cut in butter until crumbly. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of the pan, making a slight lip around the edge to hold the filling.
Bake crust for 15 - 20 minutes, until set but not yet brown.
Meanwhile, mix filling. Combine eggs, brown sugar, coconut (1 c + 2 tsp.), walnuts, salt (1/4 + 1/8 teaspoon), baking powder and vanilla.
Spread filling mixture over baked crust, return to oven and bake for 30 - 35 minutes longer.
Once the bars come out of the oven, frost immediately with glaze made from lemon zest, lemon juice, and confectioners sugar.
Mix until smooth and spread on the top.
Allow to cool and set up at least 15 minutes before cutting into bars.
