"This is a very dense and moist cake. It did not crumb very much. It was very easy to make. A very good use of ripe bananas. I would serve this at a brunch. I would also just use as an unfrosted snack cake. Next time I make it, I will try and use some Splenda instead of sugar. "- pam_perfect1

In bowl, cream butter with sugar. Beat in eggs..Add mashed bananas, vanilla and sour cream. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Fold into the creamed mixture, stirring just to blend. In separate bowl, combine finely chopped nuts, 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half over bottom of well greased bundt or tube pan. Spoon in half the batter. Sprinkle with remaining nuts and cover with balance of batter.
Bake at 350 degrees approx. 45 minutes or until cake is nicely browned.. I always test with toothpick. Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes. Serves 8-10===(To make it plain, you can eliminate the cinnamon mixture and bake in tube pan.) I always put the nuts into the plain cake, instead. You can also substitute 3 egg whites instead of 2 eggs, for less cholesterol.. Posted to JEWISH-FOOD digest by rbusman~~at;juno.com (RITA BUSMAN) on Aug 31, 1998,

Jonico 3 years agoDelicious! I made it for brunch and my guests loved it and wanted the recipe! I also added chocolate chips in the middle and it was great. Will definitely be a regular in my household - easy and delicious! Thanks!
HeatherTimpanaro 4 years agoThis was a very good recipe. We loved it! However, I would have to agree with previous posts... not the prettiest cake ever. It tastes more like banana bread then banana cake. Plan on frosting this... it makes for a prettier display. :-)
cubfan1110 4 years agoI tried it with yogurt, it came out very well and tasted great!
wizard04 4 years agoThis was delicious! I made cupcakes instead since I don't have a bundt or tube pan. I cooked them for 19 minutes until they were just turning brown on top, and they came out nice and fluffy.

dgtobert 6 years agoAgree not the world's most attractive cake, but a good basic coffee cake. Liked the banana flavor; almost like banana bread.
dgtobert 6 years agoLove the cake. I tried an orange glaze (orange juice, sugar
Jim3901 7 years agoThis was very moist. I think next time I would drizzle a glaze for decoration.

LaraCanCook 8 years agoThe flour amount is missing from the ingredients list, so I compared to similar recipes and used 2 cups of flour. Turned out great!
