Christi's Crock Pot Chicken Dressing Preparation
Cook the onion and celery in the oil until tender. Add salt, sage and poultry seasoning to the cooked onion and celery. Combine the breads in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the onion, celery mixture into the breads. In a small bowl combine the soup, broth, eggs and vinegar. Combine with all other ingredients, mix well. Pour into crock pot and cook on high for 30 minutes. Turn down heat to low and cook for 3-4 hours. About an hour before it's done, add the broken pieces of chicken.
I take the easy way out and use canned chicken broth and Hormel chicken breast in broth or gravy that take 4 minutes to microwave and are so tender. If you prefer you can stew your own chicken and use that liquid as the broth but if you do you might need to increase the salt to 1 TB. You can omit the sage if you like, it will still be every bit as delicious. It's killer good!
If you want to have it as a main dish just double the number of chicken breasts. You can't go wrong.
