Protein Energy Bars Preparation

If you double the recipe it will make thicker bars!

Spray a 9 x 9 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl mix the oats, protein powder, flaxseed, powdered milk, chocolate chips, dried cherries, and sea salt.

In a separate standard mixing bowl mix the almond butter, water, and vanilla. Add the dried ingredients from the previous step to form a sticky dough. Mix quickly and if the mixture is too dry add water and if it is too wet add oats.

Using wet hands or hands sprayed with nonstick spray, spread the mixture evenly into the baking pan. Freeze for 1 hour to set and then cut into 18-20 servings. Wrap each bar individually and store in a freezer or refrigerator.

* As an alternative to 3 1/2 cups old fashioned oats you can use 1 1/2 cups thick cup oats + 2 cups old fashioned oats
