Oven barbecue shrimp Preparation
Peel shrimp. Place in zip lock bag with dry spices and shake. Leave in refrigerator at least one hour, several if possible. Preheat oven to 400. In large oven proof skillet, cast iron, preferred. Add melted butter, olive oil, garlic, worcesthershire sauce. Place shrimp in skillet in a single layer. After oven is preheated to 400 turn on the broiler to high. Place skillet with shrimp in pre heated oven on the middle rack under the preheated broiler. Cook for 6 minutes. Important to preheat the broiler.
Remove skillet and immediately remove shrimp to individual soup bowls with 6 -7 shrimp per bowl. Place skillet on stove burner. And add chicken broth, lemon juice, and hot sauce to sauce in the skillet, boil until slightly reduced about 3 minutes. Divide liquid ( 1/2 cup each) in bowls and serve with lots of French bread to dip in sauce.
Spices can vary to your taste, more hot sauce for more heat. If you have white wine substitute wine for half of the chicken broth.
Notes
Be sure oven is preheated and do not overcook the shrimp. You could use frozen, deveined shrimp. Serve with said and cheese grits.
