"This is my favorite recipe!!! I get the best results every time. I make mine a bit larger and i don't roll them. Just drop them on the pan so 11-12 min works perfect for me. I also use a variety of ghiradelli chips always at least 1 entire bag unless I half the recipe. And sprinkle them with kosher sea salt just as I pull them from the oven. These are a hit!!!"

1 cSoftened butter
1/2 cSugar
1 1/2 cBrown sugar; packed
2 Eggs
2 1/2 tsVanilla
2 1/2 cAll purpose flour
3/4 tsSalt
1 tsBaking Powder
1 tsBaking soda
18 ozSemisweet chocolate chips

Top Secret Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350~. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Sift together the flours, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. With your fingers, place golf-ball-size dough portions 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9 minutes, or until edges are light brown. Note: Do not exceed baking time even if they look underbaked.

Finished product should be soft in the middle and crunchy around the edges. Variations: Substitute milk chocolate for the semisweet and/or add 1-1/2 cups of chopped walnuts or macadamia nuts to the recipe before baking. For the best cookie, don't substitute margarine for the butter.

I will pass on this one. The recipe is not clear or complete. The cookies come out flat and dont look good to serve on a dish. (kids I supose dont care how they look). I dont think Mrs.Field would want her name on these.

I am wary of recipes for cookies that are not my mother's, but this was great. :)

Very good but i've made these twice and they always come out pretty flat. Flat, but still delicious. I'm going to make some right now!

This cookie recipe always turns out awesome for me. I use it as a base dough for more than just chocolate chip cookies. The dough is great with white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts as well. Love it..
