Servings
Original recipe makes 4 Servings
1 tablespoonbutter
1 tablespoonbrown sugar
2 tablespoonDijon mustard
1 tablespoonhoney
1 tablespoonsoy sauce
1/2 tablespoonolive oil
salt; to taste
pepper; to taste
4 salmon filets

Honey Mustard Salmon Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine butter and brown sugar in a bowl, and microwave for 30 seconds until melted together. Stir in mustard, honey, and soy sauce.

Heat the olive oil in an oven-proof skillet over high heat. Season the salmon with salt and pepper, and add to the pan flesh side down (skin side up). Cook for 2 to 3 minutes (or until fully browned) and flip. Brush with half of the glaze and place the pan in the oven until the salmon is firm and flaky (but before the white fat begins to form on the surface), about 5 minutes. Remove, brush salmon with remaining glaze.

Notes

Glaze is great, keep remainder to add to salmon during dinner as it may need some extra.

I'll have to try the recipe again but this time with the proper mustard. I used spicy brown (it's what I had on hand) and it just didn't turn out well. Wasn't horrible but I wouldn't cook or eat it again as is. We'll see.

I don't t eat fish. Or shellfish. But I make them for my family. They raved about this salmon..it will be on the ' make again' list. Very nice texture..flaky and moist with good flavor..so I was told..Thanks for posting.

Great :-) cooked twice now, but second time used balsamic vinegar rather than soy sauce, gives good tang

Delicious! Put it in the oven with some carrots which took on the delicious flavor as well. Will be making this again!
