Toll House Cookies - Original 1939 Nestle Recipe Reviews

This is CLOSE, but not quite the same. The original recipe also included ONE TEASPOON of WATER. For whatever THAT did! (But I still always add it to mine!)

I wasn't a fan. They seemed to lack something a good cookie has.

This is my Go-To recipe now. I've memorized it so it takes 20 minutes and presto!! Fresh baked cc cookies!

Followed this recipe to the letter. I found this recipe to be my all time toll house recipe. The cookies turned out perfectly. I wouldn't touch a thing with this one. Saving this to my favorites. Many thanks for posting this one.

My first time making this recipe I didn't have enough chocolate chips so I put in one box of smarties. It was delicious! I like that extra added crunch. I would highly recommend doing it!

It looks so good also the reviews most are good and I'm thinking about trying it but someone please tell me can I just use white sugar?! I don't normally ever use brown sugar?!?....

I was so let down by this recipe. The flavor was okay, but they were as flat as pancakes, even after adding more flour. Too crispy with all the chips in the middle... So disappointing!

i have this same recipe for my whole life (16 years) and my mom had it for most of her life. the difference is 1 teaspoon of water, i use a little more imitation vanilla, and 1 and 1/2 cups of semi chocolate chips (they are SUPER chocolatey). i always get great reviews on my cookies - even when burnt.

not bad, I left out the nuts. I would make this again. They almost seemed better the next day.

Makes classic yummy, rich, delicious, chocolaty cookies. Best I ever made! It is pretty darn rich, so the second time I made it I used 3 1/4 cup flour instead, 1 tb vanilla (I like vanilla) and 1 tsp baking soda + 1/4 tsp baking powder. The results were less sweet and more standard chocolate chip cookie.

Best cookie recipe! Even better the day after you bake them.

Wonderfully chewy, not too sweet, lots of chocolate. I used egg replacer instead of eggs and margarine instead of butter to accommodate allergies. Will recommend this recipe to friends

The classic chocolate chip cookie. I make it a lot and imported it to avoid the using the back of the chocolate chip bag. This is a FOREVER favorite.

I've never made anything from scratch before and this was so easy to follow! My dough was too soft so I just added some more flour.

Family secretly gobbled them up! Thanks will make again!
