From the kitchen of Grandma (Midge) Russell.
Cook noodles according to package directions. Rinse and drain. Brown meat in butter in skillet, add salt, pepper, garlic salt, and then tomato sauce. Simmer 5 minutes. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, chopped onions and cooked noodles. Alternate layers of noodle mixture and meat mixture. Top with sharp cheddar cheese. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 - 40 minutes.
