A very simple but tasty recipe which makes a nice side dish.

1 Onion; diced
2 cloves Garlic; peeled and crushed
1 teaspoon Ginger Powder
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Sambal Ulek; Hot Chili Paste
1 can Tomatoes; Diced
1 can Green Beans (French or Regular); Large Can, or 2 small cans
3 tablespoons Kecap Manis; Indonesian Sweet Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Oil

Original recipe makes 8 Servings



Dice the onion and crush the garlic.

Fry in the oil for several minutes.

Add the Ginger, Sugar and Sambal ulek and fry for a further minute.

Add the diced tomatoes with the juice to the onion mix.

Bring to boil. Add drained Beans and Kecap Manis.

Heath through and serve.


For more original flavor, use fresh green beans.

Obviously, simmer longer until beans are tender.
