Stir baking powder, salt, cream of tartar, dry milk solids and sugar into unsifted flour. Then sift all together; cut shortening into above until mix looks like cornmeal. Place in two Tupperware Econo Canisters or in one Giant Canister. Store at room temperature. (If lard is substituted it must be refrigerated.)
Small Batch:
9 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. dry milk
1/3 c. double acting baking powder
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. vegetable shortening or 1 3/4 c. lard or salad oil.
Enjoy. Makes 13 cups.
