"Very good basic recipe with room to get creative. You could add fruit (dried, fresh or canned), nuts, spices (cinnamon, ginger, etc.); you could sub yogurt for the milk, and applesauce for the margerine." - Jenstarling

Baked Oatmeal Preparation

Our Hearts Inn Colorado Springs, Colorado Mix all ingredients together and pour into 13x9 buttered pan. Bake at 375? for 25 minutes. I like to add dried fruits and nuts and pour into small ramekins for baking and serving individually. My guests enjoy this very much and one stated "its like a large baked oatmeal cookie for breakfast". (I serve the fried apples on top of this.) Great recipe and super easy. A good way to start your day or serve as a dessert. Heart healthy. Will definately make again. I did add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg. Wonderful!
