New Orleans BBQ Shrimp

New Orleans BBQ Shrimp are not what you think. A restaurant in New Orleans called Pascal's Manale invented the dish. This recipe is very close. Lots of butter and spices! Have lots of French bread to sop up the juice and be prepared to have butter running down your elbows!

New Orleans BBQ Shrimp Preparation
Preheat oven to 375(F). Saute the bacon in an extra large cast iron skillet.Add the butter and reduce heat. When butter has melted add the remaining ingredients except the shrimp. Simmer the sauce for about 5 minutes. Then add the shrimp to the sauce trying to submerge them as much as you can. Put them on the bottom if you can. Bake, uncovered, in the oven turning once during the cooking process. About 20 minutes. Remove from oven and serve with lots of napkins and French bread.
Notes
You can make the sauce in a skillet and pour it over the shrimp in a pyrex baking dish if needed.
