Original recipe makes 10 Servings
Sift Together
1 3/4 cupsAll purpose flour
2 teaspoonBaking powder
1/4 teaspoonBaking soda
1/2 teaspoonSalt
2/3 cupSugar
Add After Sifting
1/3 cupShortening; or butter (oleo)
2 Eggs; unbeaten
1/2 cupWalnuts; broken
1 cupBananas; mashed

Banana Bread Preparation

Mash 2 or 3 small bananas to measure 1 cup.

Grease and flour 9x5x3 loaf pan. Sift flour once.

Sift together other ingredients as directed.

Add rest of ingredients to mixture and beat on slow speed until ingredients are blended - about 1 minute. Scrape bowl while beating.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Notes

The riper the bananas, the better!
