I'm a Beefy Beef kinda guy, so I use 1.5 - 2 lbs of beef and 5 potatoes.
Not a great deal different than your average beef stew, but so tasty when family preps the food together and knows they're eating healthy...
Additional Items Needed: Frying Pan & Crock Pot
Add oil to the skillet (add just enough oil to lightly coat the entire pan). Heat.
Wash stew meat in water. Toss meat in flour until well coated.
Brown meat in skillet of oil.
Cook on high heat to make the outside of the meat crispy brown, but not to completely cook the inside.
Add cans of beef broth to the crock pot.
Pour the vegetables into the crock pot.
Pour the meat (oil and all) into the crock pot. Stir.
Salt, pepper, season with seasoning.
Add a splash or two of Worcestershire Sauce to the crock pot ingredients.
Sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of flour over the ingredients. Stir slightly.
Cover pot and turn to low. Let it cook all day (8 hours).
(If cooking for 4 hours, cook on high)
It tastes incredibly good when you crumble hot, buttery cornbread and sprinkle it in your bowl...
