Original recipe makes 12
| Powdered sugar |
| 1 tsBaking soda |
| 1/2 cShortening |
| 1 1/2 cSugar |
| 1 cbananas; Mashed |
| ICING |
| 1/2 cPecans; chopped |
| 1/4 cmilk |
| 2 Eggs; beaten |
| 1/2 cButtermilk |
| 2 cFlour |
| 1 cBrown sugar |
| 1 Stickbutter; or margarine |
Banana Nut Cake #1 Preparation
Mix together shortening, sugar & eggs. Add buttermilk, soda, mashed bananas, flour & nuts. Mix well & bake slowly at 350 until done. Makes 3 layers. When cool, top with icing. ICING: Boil brown sugar & butter until it melts. Add milk. Cook 1 minute. Cool. Add enough powdered sugar to make desired spreading consistency. MRS. JOHNNY FLAGG From
