Original recipe makes 12
Powdered sugar
1 tsBaking soda
1/2 cShortening
1 1/2 cSugar
1 cbananas; Mashed
ICING
1/2 cPecans; chopped
1/4 cmilk
2 Eggs; beaten
1/2 cButtermilk
2 cFlour
1 cBrown sugar
1 Stickbutter; or margarine

Banana Nut Cake #1 Preparation

Mix together shortening, sugar & eggs. Add buttermilk, soda, mashed bananas, flour & nuts. Mix well & bake slowly at 350 until done. Makes 3 layers. When cool, top with icing. ICING: Boil brown sugar & butter until it melts. Add milk. Cook 1 minute. Cool. Add enough powdered sugar to make desired spreading consistency. MRS.
