1/2 cgreen pepper; Finely chopped
1 ccrystallized ginger; Chopped
10 cpears; Sliced, firm, ripe, (5 pounds)
3 2-inch long sticksCinnamon
3 cCider vinegar
4 cSugar
1/2 tsWhole allspice
1/2 tsCloves
1 1/2 cSeedless raisins
1/2 tsSalt

Pear Chutney Preparation

Place pears and the next 6 ingredients in a saucepan. Tie allspice and cloves in a cloth bag and add along with cinnamon. Cook slowly until pears are tender and mixture is thick, about 1 hour. Remove spices. Ladle into hot, sterilized jars. Seal airtight. YIELD- 8 jars, 1/2 pint each. Posted by DDMmom.
