Belgian Waffles #1 Preparation

For this old classic you need a special waffle iron, the Belgian Waffle Maker. The Nordic Ware people have good ones on the market, either stovetop or electric. This recipe is from their collection. Beat egg yolks until very light. Add vanilla and butter. Combine flour and salt and add with milk to egg mixture. Beat well. Beat egg whites until stiff and very gently fold into batter. Bake in a Belgian waffle iron. I use Pam spray to prevent sticking. These are often served with strawberries and powdered sugar. An unusual and very rich treat. From .
