Pineapple Fruit Gobbler
Cut off top of pineapple.
Core and empty pineapple keeping the outside for the body intact
Cut top to make feet which looks good and keeps it from rolling
Use pineapple leaves to make feathers, attach with toothpicks (remove wax from leaves and tape leaves to toothpicks)
Skewer alternating cheese cubes and grapes for tail feathers. Attach to pineapple
Attach cranberries to cheese cube for beak and snood
Attach beak cheese and raisin eyes to pear using toothpicks
Attach pear to pineapple using two toothpicks
A big hit at gatherings.
I made the skewers ahead of time and then attached everything after I arrived.
We couldn't skewer the cheese without the cheese splitting, so we used a new/clean drill bit to drill out the cheese
