Original recipe makes 2 Servings
2 tbSoy sauce
1/4 tsSugar
1/4 tsGarlic salt
1 lgTomato; peeled and coarsely
Hot cooked rice
1/8 tsGround ginger
1 tbCornstarch
3/4 lbRound steak
2 mdGreen peppers; thinly sliced
1/4 tsPepper
1/2 cBeef consomme
2 tbVegetable oil

Pepper Steak for Two Preparation

: Partially freeze steak; slice across grain into 2" x 1/4" strips. : Cook steak in oil in a large skillet until brown. Stir in tomato, green pepper, soy sauce, sugar, garlic salt, pepper, and ginger; cover and simmer 15 minutes. : Combine cornstarch and consomme; stir into steak mixture. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over rice. Yield: 2 servings. L. Floyd of Florida in November, 1981 "Southern Living". Typos by Jeff Pruett.
