warm the griddle
--Prep--
Saute onions over medium heat in a pan until slightly golden. (about 10 minutes.)
Mix beef, onion, worcestershire, allspice, cumin, and black pepper in a bowl.
Seperate meat into equal portions according to number of servings.( ex. 8 servings=8 portions)
--Burgers--
Take a portion and split in half.
Flaten each half slightly.
Place cheese slice on one half of the portion of beef and top with the other portion.
Press together and close egde to form pattie.
Repeat
--Cook--
Place patties on the grill over medium heat.
Cook for 4 minutes and then flip.
Cook 4 minutes more.
Lightly salt patties. (salting before cooking draws out juices and flavor.)
--Serve--
Place patties on bun.
top with 1-2 tomato slices and 1 lettuce leaf
