This easy-to-make appetizer will take you back to the Mad Men era!
Drain whole water chestnuts in the can and slice bacon into half strips.
Wrap nuts in bacon, hold with a toothpick and put into ungreased bakig dish (I use the one that will be used to serve).
Mix brown sugar, white sugar, vinegar and ketchup. Poor mixture over wrapped chestnuts, and bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees until bacon is browned and the sauce looks sticky.
I baked them for 30 minutes and they still didn't look brown enough, so you may have to play with the timing.
