Sift twice the flour and baking powder, salt, and spices. Stir in brown sugar and oatmeal. Make a well in dry ingredients. Combine remaining ingredients and pour into well. Stirring just enough to blend. Do not over mix.
Grease a large loaf pan. Line bottom with waxed paper and grease the paper. Bake 45-50 minutes at 350. Turn out and cool.
