Suggest a better descriptionCombine chopped green tomatoes & next 3 in saucepan over medium heat.
In a bowl, mix sugar & cornstarch & stir together.
Slowly add while stirring to tomatoes, cook until clear, 10-15 min
Turn off heat, & add butter.
Place 1st pie crust in pan.
Stir just to mix the butter with the filling & pour into crust.
Top with second crust, seal edges, & make 5 longish slits in crust
Bake @ 425 for 40-50 min
I prefer a lattice top- reduce butter stirred in to 1Tbsp, melt the other Tbsp in a ramekin or such. cut 2nd crust into 1 inch strips & lace over top. Bake for 30 Min @ 425, then brush the remaining butter over lattice .
Return to oven, Decreasing to 400 & bake another 12-15 min. Check crust after 9 min & every couple min thereafter... you want the crust to brown well with the added butter, but not burn.
