Bacon makes everything better
Bacon sauce: in large pan, cook bacon pieces until almost crispy. do not drain fat. Add onions and cook until almost translucent. add garlic and salt and pepper to taste. Cook briefly, then add tomatoes, bring to boil, cover and simmer for 1-2 hours. If tomato chunks are too big, run through a food processor or blender before adding.
Meatballs: preheat oven to 425. Grease baking sheet with olive oil. combine the rest of the ingredients (except pasta) in a large bowl. Make meatballs 1-1 1/2 inches and place on baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes at 425, then turn oven down to 350 for an additional 10 minutes. Turn meatballs every few minutes to brown evenly.
Prepare pasta and serve.
