1 cnutmeats; Finely chopped
1 1/2 tbHoney; or syrup, about
1 cconfectioner's sugar; Sifted
2 tbCocoa; about
1/4 cRum; or brandy
1/8 tsSalt
2 ccrumbs of toasted sponge cake; Finely sifted

Rum Balls or Rum Drops Preparation

Place in a bowl ~ 2 cups finely sifted crumbs of toasted sponge cake, zwieback or graham crackers Add ~ 2 tabs cocoa, 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt, 1 cup finely chopped nutmeats Combine ~ 1 1/2 tabs. honey or syrup, 1/4 cup rum or brandy Add the luquid ingredients slowly to the crumb mixture. Use your hands to tell when the consistency is right, when the mixture will hold together stop adding liquid. Roll the mixture into 1 inch balls, roll them in confectioners or gran. sugar.
