| 1 egg; Slightly beaten |
| 2/3 cYellow corn meal |
| 3/4 cmilk |
| 1 1/2 tsBaking Powder |
| 1 lbfrankfurters; (8 to 10) |
| 1 tsSalt |
| 2 tbShortening |
| 1 cAll-Purpose Flour; sifted |
Broncos (Corn Dogs) Preparation
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in corn meal. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Combine egg and milk; add to corn meal mixture, stirring until well blended. Insert wooden skewer into end of each frank. Spread franks evenly with batter. Fry in deep hot oil (375F.) until brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Serve with catsup and mustard. ~----/
