Xylitol is a natural sugar that has been scientifically proven to be very beneficial to the teeth by helping rebuild the enamel. Xylitol can be found in natural food stores. Coconut oil has antibiotic/antiseptic properties. Aloe Vera gel has been shown in research to mimic fluoride with your teeth.
Pour the 1/2 cup Aloe Vera and Xylitol into a small pan and place on stove on med-low heat. Heat until xylitol melts. (Similar to making sugar syrup). Stir in coconut oil until melted and incorporated. Bring to simmer/low boil. Mix arrowroot and an extra tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel in a separate cup or small bowl until arrowroot is melted. Pour into mixture on stove and whisk vigorously (I use a stick blender for about a minute) until mixture starts to gel. About 3 minutes if hand whisking. Remove from heat and add all essential oils. Allow to cool. Mixture will thicken as it cools. Adjust thickness by using more or less arrowroot. Store in plastic container. I pipe mine into a 3 oz plastic bottle with a flip top lid that I can squirt out like a toothpaste tube. Makes about 6 oz.
